[Announce] Coleridge recreation ground proposed fellings

Dear All,

We are very concerned to hear from this newspaper article today
http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/News/Trees-are-fair-game-for-council-tennis-scheme-20130722060000.htm 

that the city council proposes to fell a number of mature trees on 
Coleridge recreation ground, including two mature horse chestnuts, in 
order to replace tennis courts.

This news gives us serious doubt over the safety and security of 
trees in the council's care
and is of great concern to us because it undermines our trust in the 
council.  I hope that the council will move rapidly to make it clear 
that no major mature trees such as these will be considered for 
felling in such circumstances
